Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make shots less painful?

One way to reduce the initial pinch or pain of the needle entry is to use a topical anesthetic cream. EMLA can be used by prescription and LMX is the over-the-counter. Both are fairly effective when used properly. The creams work well for children whether it's used for weekly chemotherapy shots or for monthly blood draws.
