Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be able to see symptoms of uveitis?

For the most part, no. JIA-related uveitis generally presents asymptomatically meaning you can't see it and the child usually won't know it's there either. If your child complains of vision problems or eye pain, or if you notice redness of the eyes or anomalies with the iris, the uveitis has progressed very far and damage has already been done to the eye.
